It’s sad – though understandable – that whenever I feel like playing Ace of Base in some party I’m putting music on I always have to stick my repertoire to the big hits such as The Sign or All That She Wants. But ok, eurodance is eurodance and we can never please everybody, can we? Still, it’s rather sad that some people don’t know some of these swedish eurotrash pearls from their first releases (Happy Nation and The Sign, between 1991 and 1992 and with similar line-ups).

These below are dedicated to my wonderful DJ partner, Scotch, and my timeless twin-bro, Brandon. Cheers from a freezing Paris under minus 15 degrees.

Wheel of Fortune (from Happy Nation / The Sign, released as a single in 1993)

My Mind (from Happy Nation / The Sign, never released as a single)

Hear Me Calling (from Happy Nation, never released as a single)

Voulez Vous Danser (from Happy Nation / The Sign, never released as a single)

Waiting for Magic (from Happy Nation / The Sign, released as a single in 1993)

Beautiful, italian AND a Virgo, Gala’s first album ruled dancefloors all over Europe with Freed From Desire, Let a Boy Cry or this wonderful piece of Eurodance called Come Into My Life, beautifully coreographed by Joaquín Cortéz, and in which we can verify that she is also a great dancer. She is currently a coreographer herself and her newest release after a decade of silence, Tough Love, still leaves the sweet eurotrash taste in one’s mouth, and although it was produced in the States it still has that fantastic ability of making one think that he/she is watching some Eurovision Song Contest.

Oh, and her ‘I couldn’t care less’ beauty also remains as her trademark.
